After some failed iterations he was near giving up. But, as you propably guessed, you wouldn’t read this if we hadn’t managed to success. It’s all thanks to the brilliant idea that came up by accident.

Write down every single line of text of your future site in one Word (or some more open text editor :) ) file. Start dividing it into blocks of semantically similar pages. Next, think of colligations between them, propose call to actions. Now, you should be comfortable with setting design goals.

Of course, it took a lot of time, but it’s worth it! You can easily hack your brain and destroy creativity block. Moreover, you’ll propably end up with much better copy, which means better conversion rates.

URL Design — Warpspire

URL Design — Warpspire:
For frontend and backend developers.

Final Eyes

Final Eyes:
Damn beautiful.

Selectivizr - CSS3 selectors for IE 6-8

Selectivizr - CSS3 selectors for IE 6-8:
Should be useful.

OS X pro tip: opening hidden folders in Finder

open directory

Yes, it is that simple. I don’t really like showing all dot-files by “hacking” system’s defaults - it’s a mess. Then, this solution saves life if you need the GUI simplicity for basic operations.

TypeKit and Adobe

TypeKit and Adobe:
Hell yes!

Experimenting with Node.js - Jeff Kreeftmeijer

Experimenting with Node.js - Jeff Kreeftmeijer:
My mind is blown, REALLY.

Interesting approach and maybe a way to improve your conversion rates (sales or something).

Update: I can imagine some systems that could highly benefit from this solution. Think of commercial content management systems with loads of statistics, plugins, switches… Updates subsystem could monitor these things providing not only info about changes in used components, but also news from your sales department (such as a new plugin). Fighting with spam? We’ve just released special tool… Just one click!

Weekly inspiration - Tumblr themes

9-Bits (for simplicity and colors)
